On October 14th, 2014 the brethren of the Winslow, Arizona Masonic lodge awoke to discover their historic-building was victim to 3 accused arsons. Those accused where taken in to custody soon after but that could not bring back the priceless masonic history within the confines of that which was lost in the fire. These acts of intolerance have been increasingly common as the Fraternity of Freemasons have observed as of late. You may remember this story when Freemasonry Squared along with WB Chris Hodapp reported on its tragedy.
We admonish to never underestimate the grit and determination of the Craft, our members and the communities we work to make better. From the ashes, Winslow Masonic lodge No. 13 F&AM has rebuilt their beautiful lodge. It was May 27, 2017 when the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons in Arizona conducted a rebirth and dedication cornerstone ceremony for the reestablished Winslow No. 13.
It’s with great enthusiasm that we have the distinct pleasure of presenting to the Craft the rebuild that took a significant amount of work, 3 years and dedication to bring the lodge back to its magnificence. It goes to show that if there’s a will there’s a way! Congratulations to the brethren of Winslow Masonic Lodge No. 13 F&AM for bringing light to a dark situation.
